National Weekend Rundown for April 2

Hurdle Madness: Three Girls Go All-Time Fast on April Fool's Day

Chanel Brissett (above) ran 13.19 in the 100 hurdles at the Florida Relays, making her the seventh fastest high school girl ever in the event. And that was only the beginning of the hurdle insanity on Friday. After a lengthy weather delay at the Texas Relays, Tonea Marshall took full advantage of a very small window where the wind was under the legal limit. She won her prelim in 13.26 seconds, making her the sixteenth fastest high schooler ever in the event.

A few hours later in Austin, Brandee Johnson became the third girl to add her name to the all-time lists. She won the 300 hurdles in 40.87, making her #15 all-time.

At New Balance Nationals Indoors two weeks ago, Marshall won the 60 hurdles, ahead of Brissett in fifth and Johnson in sixth. It's going to be a spicy outdoor season.
