This Region I-5A race is loaded with talent. We have the defending champion coming back and she probably won't even be the favorite to take the title this year with some girls coming off great performances on the track like Alyssa Nielson and also with 2007 Region II champ Jenny Swan.

The team battle should be very interesting but hard for me to forecast because there are many unknown graduation years for the top teams so I don't know exactly who is coming back when it gets down to the teams 4-5 runners. Region I defending champ Keller should be strong as always. Southlake is also bring back top talent so they should be in the title hunt also. Plano West placed 4th in the tough Region II division last year so they have to potential to be strong this year also.

I do know that the race up front should be spectacular. There are at least 20 contenders for those top 10 state...
