Texas Relays: Which Events To Watch For

Carson Dingler and Rachel Baxter interview after making the USA World U20 team

Girls Pole Vault

The girls Pole Vault is going to be a LOADED field. The nation's top girls vaulters will be in Austin for a clash of the pole vault titans. California's RACHEL BAXTER is the top vaulter in the nation. She comes to Texas Relays as the reigning champion from last year as well as the California State champion. In 2015, Baxter made the USA World Youth team and the 2015 USA U20 World team. Her 14-0 SB is just off of her 14-3 PR, but she could definitely look to reach that mark or beyond this weekend.

Baxter will have to compete against her Team USA U20 World Championship teammate CARSON DINGLER. Dingler, the Georgia native comes into the weekend fresh off her 13-10 SB last week at the FSU Relays. Dingler is on a roll after two monster indoor performances. Back in February, she won the Dunamis Sports Group Prep Classic, in Frisco, Texas. She then went on to place second at the New Balance Nationals Indoor Championships.

Another out of state stud vaulter is Nevada's MAKAYLA LINEBARGER. Linebarger comes in ranked #4 nationally with her 13-6 on the season. She comes in with a big indoor meet win at the Simplot Games with a 13-5 vault.

The top Texas defenders of their home turf will be COLLEEN CLANCY of Smithson Valley and New Caney's NASTASSJA CAMPBELL. Clancy comes in as Texas' top vaulter and the #3 nationally ranked vaulter with her 13-6 and Campbell is the nations #6 vaulter with her 13-4. All of these girls will be looking to go 14 feet or higher.
