Sophomore stud Michael Abeyta is having a great sophomore year to back up his All-State rookie campaign.
This week, he won his district race, but he wasn't exactly pleased with his time. With that, he still says he feels like he is in the best shape of his life. If his races can eventually match his fitness level, then watch out. He has the endurance and he has the leg speed to run with anyone.
Abeyta got a late start to his season after having two eye surgeries over the last several months, but it hasn't shown any real signs of slowing him down.
Continue to watch Abeyta, as the El Paso Hanks star looks to add a 5A cross country championship to his 5A 1,600m title from last track season.
