Last month, we saw Texas relay teams straight up drop epic races and performances two straight days for the second year in a row at the UIL state track and field meet.
Last year, Fort Bend Marshall had less of a typical finish compared to their standards. At the start of this season, they put last year in the past. While their hands were in the past pot luck, they pulled some of the Marshall past success and brought it back to the 2018 season.
2018 looked like the old Marshall finishes, which were at the top of the UIL awards stand.
We also saw Katy Seven Lakes at the state meet running some historically fast times. The record board in Seven Lakes high school no doubt was being revised week in and week out with the amazing things those guys were doing this season.
Both squads enjoyed their mid May weekends in Austin last month as they ran some very fast relays in their respective classes. However they hooked up earlier in the season. In February, the Katy Seven Lakes Relays matched the two month of May blazing teams and they battled in all three sprint relays that entire day.
Check out meet videos and see just how that day went down and how much of a sign it was for what was to come later on in the season as well as the many other outstanding races from the entire meet.
