Ava Peeples (Senior, Lake Highlands)
The Dallas standout and Florida State University signee ran a 17 second personal best at the UIL State Cross Country Championships to finish 6th in 17:07.03. Peeples just missed out on an automatic trip to NXN after finishing 7th at the NXN South Regional.
It's an incredible story for someone who competed in the high school regionals for the first time in two years after an injury sidelined her season and progress from freshman year.
