Qualifying to the UIL state track and field meet is nothing new for George Ranch High School. The Richmond, Texas was able to qualify for this weekend's UIL 6A state meet with two relays and a 200m runner on the boys side.
However, both the 4x100 (40.73) and the 4x200 (1:24.95) relays have now been disqualified from this year's state meet competition for use of an ineligible athlete.
Galena Park Northshore will replace George Ranch in both relay events. The Mustangs finished third place in the 4x200 relay (1:25.51) at the Region 3-6A region and with the DQ, they get bumped up to the second spot. In the 4x100 relay finals (41.09), they finished fourth place and get bumped up to third place, which gives them the wild card spot having the fastest third place regional time out of all 6A 4x100 relays.
