The Texas Distance Festival (TDF) just picked up a major out of state talent for the 2020 event. Every season, the TDF secures the top distance runners from Texas as well as some of the best nation wide talent.
Josh Methner, of Hershey High School (IL) further demonstrates that tradition and history of the TDF. Methner won the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships and was second at NXN this past fall and he is a confirmed competitor for this year's TDF Elite 5K competition.
With the Texas talent expected to compete along with several other future expected out of state commitments, the meet is already shaping up to possibly be the best edition of the meet ever.
That is saying a lot. To do so, it would have to surpass the 2017, 2018, and 2019 meets for the boys. In 2017, nine of the top 15 boys All-Time TDF performances were run and four of them in 2019. The 2019 girls race saw eight of the top 15 girls All-Time TDF performances.
