DFW Boys To Watch For This Cross Country Season

Robert Neeley - Keller Timber Creek

When you go from 2:07s in the 800, 4:50s in the 1600m, mid 10s in the 3200, and 16:40s in the 5K you wouldn't think they'd be a dangerous runner in the DFW area. However, Keller Timber Creek's Neeley went from those times one year to the state meet the next.

Neeley started the 2019 cross country season with a 16:05.60 5K PR and kept things rolling from there. Before COVID, he ran 4:29.14 and 9:56.24 on the track for PRs. A 15:47.32 and 53rd place cross country state meet finish proves he belongs in consideration of the elite runners in the state.

If he can follow up last year's improvements with more this year, Neeley will make some noise this year.
