From the moment she put on the Celina orange, Adele Clarke has been a force on the state level in both track and cross country. Tuesday, it was just her time; now a junior, there is just no more time for on the job training.
She proved that she is ready for the title and she did it in an all out battle in the 4A girls championship race. Clarke took down state champions and a hard charge from Calhoun's Emme ODonnell. ODonnell and the Kaufman girls dropped back own to 4A after two years in 5A giving en even bigger challenge for Clarke to have to pull out the win.
All 4A girls were targeting the two time team champions from Canyon. The team that has dominated over the last two seasons faced perhaps their toughest challenge in the last three years. Celina, Decatur, Waxahachie Life, Kaufman, Bandera, and Argyle all turned in a race to be remembered for years to come.
However, Canyon took their game to another level as a team and outlasted the best team battle they've had since moving down to 4A; his was their third consecutive win in Round Rock.
