Texas Distance Festival Is BACK!

Last year, COVID-19 seemed to all of a sudden take everything we knew as normal and everything we loved, including the best track meets for track and field fans and athletes.

One of those was a meet that is becoming as iconic of a track and field meet  as one can possibly be - - the Texas Distance Festival (TDF). The meet is so huge, it is known nation wide by it's three letter acronym and it's meet merchandise is so coveted that hundreds of shirts are a sell out every single year.

Last year, just two days before the event, it was unfortunately cancelled because of COVID. This year, the Southlake Running Company is bringing it back. To help limit the amount of athletes and spectators in the facility, this year's event will be a two day event, scheduled for Friday March 19th and Saturday March 20th.

Every year, the TDF attracts the best distance athletes from all over Texas as well as some of the best distance talent from across the country. MileSplit editor, Cory Mull said, "you're going there for a purpose, you don't go to (Texas Distance Festival) to run slow in the 5K." 

This year will be no different as registration for the event is already growing. Registration is open now and closes March 12, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. The 800m, 1,600m, 3,200m and the 5,000m will still be the competed events.
