Last year was going to be as good of a track and field season as ever. The DeSoto girls were going their fifth straight UIL state championship. However, COVID-19 eliminated the opportunity.
It also took away a chance for several teams to give their best shot at taking them down. Teams like The Woodlands, Summer Creek, Clear Falls, Katy Cinco Ranch and others had quality chances to relieve the Lady Eagles from the top spot.
Now that it's officially the 2021 outdoor season, let's take a look at the teams who return enough quality individuals and relays from last year to possible make a run at team state championships from SPC all of the way through the largest UIL classification.
These rankings were calculated by scoring the rankings as a meet. We scored 20 deep for individuals and 20 deep for relays. For example, for individuals 1st place received 20 points for their team, on down to 1 point for 20th place.
*** Athletes whose graduation years are unknown were left out of the list.
