The 6A Girls' Shot-put met expectations with serious competition. While some athletes threw consistently, many others jumped around the podium. Sophia Haberer from San Antonio Brandeis and Chrystal Herpin of Pearland Dawson both threw 44-4.25, tying for third place. Lilly Rodel of Conroe sat in 8th place before her final attempt; she secured a silver medal with a throw of 45-8. The 6A Girls' Shot-put state champion was Katy Cinco Ranch senior Amelia Flynt,. The University of California commit came into the meet ranked #1 and threw a distance of 46-5.

The 6A Boys Shot-put competition didn't disappoint either. The #1 and #2 ranked throwers Bryce Foster of Katy Taylor and Jacob Tracy of Austin Lake Travis went back-and-forth throughout their six attempts. With his last two throws, Bryce Foster came out on top, tying his personal best of 71-1 and earning his second state medal after winning silver in 2019. Jacob Tracy took second place with a throw of 63-7.5, and Matthew Rueff, a junior from Katy Seven Lakes, captured third with 61-2.
