UIL 3A Girls All-State Third Team


21 Olivia Etzler (Halletsville)

Etzler ran under 13 minutes at the end of September and after dropping almost a minute, she never looked back. She was second at district, 10th at Region 4-3A and ended up 21st at state with a 12:21 PR.


20 Rory Hake (Whitesboro)

Had a great season running under 12:40 all season long. She had a 11:46 performance at Region 2-3A before placing 20th at the state meet.


19 Makki Hart (Shallowater)

Hart is a silver medalist from the state track and field meet in the 400m, but that hasn't stopped the sprinter from becoming a top cross country runner. She won district and was sixth at Region 1-3A. The 56 second quarter-miler ran 12:19 at state for a 18th place finish.


18 Makayla Pavelka (West)

Pavelka was second at her district meet in 12:02. She then finished third at Region 2-3A before her 17th place finish at state.


17 Avery Heard (Lorena)

Lorena has a youngster who is very talented who found her groove mid September when she started to consistently run sub 13. She has one of the best runners in the state as a training partner. Se was third at McNeil, third at district and fifth at Region 2-3A before going 12:17 for 16th at state.


16 Sarah Denton (Gunter)

Denton won her district meet and then PRed in 11:44 at the Region 2-3A meet for third place. She ended the year 15th overall at state.


15 Kate Simons (Vanderbilt Industrial)

The Vanderbilt freshman looked like one of the best runners through regionals. She ran sub 13 all season long and won the Region 4-3A champion and finished 19th overall.
