Duncanville 4x100 Relay, 'We Got More In The Tank'

Just when you thought you'd seen it all and that it couldn't get any better. . . . then you hear there could be more to come.

That's where we currently are with the Duncanville 4x100 relay.

They started the year off by dropping some blazing fast times; running times back in the month of March that could win the state meet in May.

Those 40.28 days in March now seem so long ago, especially when they put on a show like they did in the Region 2-6A finals.

According to them, they aren't finished yet, "We've been working very hard, we've been working our butt off," their third leg said. Despite the show they put on in Waco last weekend, it might not be their best yet, "we feel great, we got some more in the tank."

Not only did hey handle their personal business that was going on in their own lane, but the handled a tough situation with a fantastic Klein Forest team in the lane right next to them.

We've been working very hard, we've been working our butt off. We feel great, we got some more in the tank."

In fact, they took on the fastest field in the state this year. Four of the qualifying teams had run 40.84 or faster in the preliminary rounds the day before.

The Panther's strengths this year have been their depth, composure, and precise exchanges, three things that can sink a relay at this time of year.

BOYS 4X100 METER RELAY PRELIMS
PLACE	TEAM	RESULT	H#
1	Klein Forest	40.34	1
2	Duncanville	40.35	1
3	Aldine Eisenhower	40.69	1
4	Waxahachie	40.84	1

Up to this point, Duncanville has shown the aren't sinking, but rather swimming with the sharks. A state championship is their goal and so they have done everything right and are on a path to accomplishing their goal.

Just .09 stands between Duncanville and history. Only six high school boys teams in the history of high school track and field have run under 40.00 in the 4x100 meter relay. Each of those teams are Texas teams and the site of them have mostly been produced at the site of Duncanville's next meet -- Mike A. Myers Stadium.
