Two-sport start Hannah Pfiffner and University of Oklahoma volleyball commit won her second consecutive UIL 5A high jump state championship last month in Austin making her one of the most successful athletes in the state between volleyball and track and field.
The junior was one of three Texas girls to jump six feet and to be ranked No. 5 nationally. The Texas high jump scene is so good right now, that she is the only one of the three six feet jumpers amongst all of the classes to win a state title this year.
She finished the year undefeated with 5-9 being her lowest height of the season. At the state meet, she was clean on all jumps until a close misses at 5-10, 5-11, and 6-0 before clears at all three heights. That is why we give her the nod over the other high jumpers and a solid chance of winning POY.
