The final girls preseason all-state team is here.
By now, you could have guessed who the representatives would be, but the order is what is important. With so many extraordinary athletes who we recognize work hard, it was hard to boil things down to just seven runners.
However, as with the previous lists, we graded on what the runners have done last season as well as with the improvements they made during the track season. National level racing along with regional and state meet performances were also key to establishing the top seven and the order.
There is no exact science and it's hard to pinpoint which of these ladies deserve what ranking, but we've done our best.
The top seven is comprised by a former UIL 4A runner, who will now be in 5A and consistently running at the 5000m distance. Two other 5A runners are on the list along with three 6A runners comprise six and a possible surprise to some with a 1A runner on our first team.
