MEET PREVIEW: UIL REGION 3 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Region 3 - 1A

Girls

The girl's side is bringing in state-ranked number 2 Priddy, number 5 ranked Miller Grove, number 6 state-ranked Slidell, and number 11 state-ranked Dodd City. This year these 1A girls are looking to put region 3 on the map for 1A. 

Lindsey Mauppin of Doddy City is leading the leaderboards for the conference 1A Region 3 rankings, she is coming in with the fastest-seeded time running 12:15.20  2 Mile. 

Karissa Seider of Priddy is coming in leading the number 1 ranked region 3 team, she is coming in with a 2 Mile personal best of 12:50.70. 

Kaylee Bezio of Graford is the only athlete who qualified from her school, but she is looking to progress where she left off, she's coming in with a time of 12:57.87. 

Sydney Partin of Priddy is looking to improve on her seated placement and run a lot closer to her teammate Seider, she is coming in with a 2 mile personal best running a time of 12:59.60. 

Rylie Eckert of Richland Springs is coming in as a district champ while leading her team to a second-place spot at the UIL 1A District 17, she is coming in with a time of 13:12.00.   

 Boys

The boy's side of the ballpark is looking to be an interesting one too, it includes 4 of the top 7 teams in the state of Texas number one ranked Saltillo High School, number two ranked Miller Grove, number 4 state-ranked Slidell, and number seven state-ranked Saint Jo. This year region 3 is looking to get the same respect region 1 gets. 

London Cobb of Graford just a sophomore is coming in hot with the fastest time of 16:11.38 where he came out victorious at his district meet, he looking to keep this momentum leading into regionals. 

Ryker Haviala of Miller Grove is looking to keep the winning dynasty moving forward, he is coming in with a time of 16:46.40. Can the sophomore carry the weight of the winning tradition Miller Grove is famously known for?

Nicholas Romo of Woodson is coming in with a chip on his shoulder, he may have taken second at his district to district rival Cobb of Graford but he is seeking to take his revenge out at regionals. Romo is coming in with a time of 17:00.02

Josh Garvin another sophomore out of Slidell may be an underclassman but don't be fooled by his grade, he is leading the number 4 ranked team of course. Garvin has the fourth-fastest-seeded time in the region but is looking on improving on his 17:03.80. 

Christian Gonzalez a junior out of Sulphur Bluff is the only upperclassman in the top five seeded rankings for regionals, he is coming in with a time of 17:07.34 but is looking to show the young bucks what xc is all about.
