Trinity Invitational Meet Summary

It was a wonderful day to run at Olmos Basin Park in San Antonio. The skies were threatening rain but it held off and a great day of Cross Country ensued. The 2004 version of the Trinity held true to form as in years past. The host team in both the Men's and Women's race dominated the action. Both Trinity Men and Women have a shot to make it to The DIII National Championships held in November.

The Women's race featured the 3 best DIII teams in Texas. Trinity, Texas Lutheran (Defending ASC Champions) and Southwestern. Trinity edged out a 12 point victory over the surprise team of the meet Southwestern. Texas Lutheran followed in third with 90 points. SR Larissa Wilkinson (pictured on right) FR Jennifer Burn (pictured on left) and Division II runner Veronica Rodriguez (TAMUK) took the lead early. It was a three person race for most of the race. Larissa went on for the victory in 18:29 for the 3 mile flat loop course.

Tara Wicketts (Fr DII St Marys) came in 4th, with defending ASC Champion Samara Williams (So) rounding out the top 5 with a 19:13. Check out the Trinity Meet Page for full results and team standings.
