The UIL Cross Country State Championships is this weekend and the Rio Grande Valley Cross Country Coaches Association will be well represented.

This episode features the boys coaches from Brownsville Veterans Memorial (BVM) and UIL 5A No. 5 Sharyland.

Last year, BVM finished fourth at the UIL 4A state meet. They return the majority of their squad giving them valuable experience. Coach Albert Alanis spoke with us and detailed last year's team and the chances of the 2022 squad's chances of running onto the podium.

Coach Jorge Guerra has his Sharyland boys team clicking. Sharyland is confident and they are playing with house money; last year, they didn't even make it out of district. Their combination of talent, confidence, and running with nothing to lose makes them a dangerous team. They won the Region 4-5A Championships and will head to Austin with the goal of challenging the likes of Lucas Lovejoy, Grapevine, Georgetown and more.
