Southlake Carroll fell short in last year's UIL State Cross Country Championships, placing 4th as a team coming just one spot from coming onto the podium. This year it all changed for the better, the lady Dragons came in blazing hot into the race trying to seek revenge on Flower Mound after what had happened last week in the region of doom.

The third place team was the lady mustangs of Humble Kingwood High School from the Houston metro area. These seniors were determined to seek a podium spot in this year's state race in the same way their freshmen played out when they finished 2nd place back in the 2019 season. Keep an eye out next year, for these girls are bringing in a strong young team.
