Although the cross country season is complete and with outdoor track and field on the horizon, Austin Vandegrift senior Kevin Sanchez received another award - - Texas boys Gatorade POY.
In November, Sanchez won his second consecutive UIL 6A boys state championship, which capped off a great UIL career. He then started his postseason where he qualified for both the Team Championships and Champs Nationals.

Sanchez was undefeated throughout the regular and championship season. It wasn't until the Team Regionals when he was runner-up that he was defeated.
