The 2023 track and field season saw some outstanding running from the middle distance boys. Keyshawn Garcia recently became the first Texas boy to break 1:50 in two seasons when he ran 1:49.61 at the RunningLane Championships. He added a 4:20.31 SB in the 1600m to total a 6:09.92 combined score. Reese Vannerson who ran the fastest 3200m in the state, also ran the best 1600m in the state this year and still managed to post a 1:53.48 for a 6:00.35 combined time.
