Breaking News Keyshawn Garcia Signs To University Of Houston

Keyshawn Garcia has taken the 2023 outdoor season by storm and has also remained undefeated in all 800m competitions this year. Garcia's most impressive wasn't just in the lone star state but on the national level too, winning the 2023 6A UIL 800m gold medal, and bringing yet another gold medal from this previous weekend at the 2023 RunningLane Track Championships. The new kid on the block will make a huge difference to the already star-studded middle distance program the University of Houston has displayed in the past.

Garcia will be having an incoming freshman class that is no stranger too, Aaron Crittenden of Killeen Ellison, Michael Archie of Humble Atascocita, Derek Waite of Klein Oak, Alan Bonner of Bridgeland, and Patrick Flowers of Liberty.

Garcia will be joining a great middle distance program at Houston, the cougars took two athletes to the NCAA West Regional Championships meet in Sacramento, CA who just so happen to be Texas natives too. Class of 2019 from El Paso Andress Lloyd Frilot and class of 2021 Adam Mason from Manvel High School was a state champion himself back in 2021 in the 400m, runner up both 800m & 4x400m relay which Mason achored running a 46.59 split.

Lloyd Frilot would break the school record in the 800m running a time of 1:47.58 and Mason would end up finishing up with a time of 1:48.83 ran at this year's American Outdoor Track & Field Championships

These next few years the Houston Cougars will have one of the top 800m programs in the country.
