Coach Baca and the Canyon squad pose with the 2018 state cross country championship trophy
Canyon girls head coach Ray Baca has just about done it all. His coaching career has spanned for .... years and he has accumulated many state titles in both cross country and track and field while at the helm. He also won a state title at Canyon as an athlete.
The sitting Executive Director of the Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas (CCCAT), he oversees the sport for the entire state and sits on boards for several other coaching associations.
For those reasons, Baca is qualified to know how awesome of a time it is to be a cross country fan and watch the UIL 4A girls classification.
He is a part of a group of his colleagues who have raised the bar for girls, the sport, and the state of Texas.
We had the privilege to talk with him about many things from dealing with his position on the CCCAT to the dawg fight other wise known as the UIL 4A girls cross country classification.
Hear what he has to say.
