Eight Boys To Watch At North Texas Jumps Showcase

Lucas Lovejoy senior and Oklahoma State commit Adam Colston will compete this weekend at the North Texas Jumps Showcase

The North Texas Jumps Showcase will have several up-and-coming jumpers competing this weekend. At the same time, there will be some boys who have already made a name for themselves.

Both NCAA Division 1 commits and Texas state champions will hit the runway to begin their indoor track seasons. Here eight athletes we think you should keep an eye on this weekend.

Joseph West (Round rock Stony Point) - West was one of the top freshman sprinter/jumpers last season and he returns for his sophomore season with two jumps over 23 feet. West has a 23-2 PR (w) and a 23-1.5 where he won the Junior Olympic Games.

Chastin Clark (Cypress Ranch) - Clark has a 46-6 seed but at PB of 45-6.5 from to win the AAU Region 17 Qualifier.

Jamitrius Jessie (Cypress Park) - Jessie has a 46-8.5 personal best when he placed third at the TTFCA Meet of Champions.

Cordial Vann (Frisco Heritage) - Vann has solid sprint marks that more than likely assist with his 23-6.25 long jump personal best.

Vann was the runner-up at the UIL 5A state meet, and fourth at Great Southwest.

Cade Andrews (Sunnyvale) - The junior will compete in the triple jump this weekend and has a 47-2 seed and personal best. Andrews won the UIL Region 2-4A Championships and finished seventh at the UIL 4A state meet.

Cameron Miller (Allen) - The University of New Mexico commit is an outstanding sprinter for Allen, but he has also turned into one heck of a horizontal jumper.

He will compete in the triple jump where he has a 47-2 seed and PR from the UIL 6A 5/6A Area Championships last year.

Colston Adamson (Lucas Lovejoy) - Oklahoma State commit Adamson will compete in both jump events this weekend.  He comes in with 23-4 and 46-4.75 seed and personal best.

The 23-4 is from last year's Texas Under Armour HS Classic, but he added a 24-5.25 best jump from the Texas Relays. In the triple jump, Adamson went for a 47-5 best at the Princeton Maurice Hill Inv.

Look for him to get things off to a good start this weekend.

Xavier Drumgoole (Round Rock) - Drumgoole had an exceptional season in both jumps last year and will compete in both this weekend.

He was the UIL 6A runner-up in the long jump last year and ended with a 23-10 PR. Perhaps, his best efforts were in the triple jump. Drumgoole enters with a 49-11.75 seed and has a 50-6.75 personal best from the Nike Outdoor Nationals. He had five meets with jumps over 49 feet including his UIL 6A state triple jump title.

Be on the lookout for some possibly outstanding jumps out of the gate from Drumgoole.
