Broderick Davis Opens With 7.75 In 60H And 24-0 Long Jump

Scotlandville senior Broderick Davis is one of the top uncommitted members of the class of 2024. He didn't waste any time in hitting the national rankings at the FasTrak Athletix High School Indoor Challenge in Houston, and he did so with two superb performances.

Davis warmed up with a 7.95 run in the 60-meter hurdles for the top qualifying mark. He then let loose in the finals when he blazed a 7.75 to lead three boys under 8.00.

The reigning defending Louisiana LHSAA 110-meter hurdle state champion went for a 13.96 PR outdoors and was the indoor state champ as well. His 7.75 lowers his personal best in the event from his previous 7.84 that won last year's indoor state title.

Davis was also impressive by winning the long jump, going for a 24-0 best measurement on the day.

He opened last indoor season with a 22-7.25 and jumped a 24-0.50 PB at the indoor state meet later in the season. He appears to be far ahead of last year's pace by already producing a 24 foot mark.
