Kameron Franklin and Cali Bryant are at the top of the US rankings in the high jump and are joined by other Texans

Cali Bryant didn't even wait until the calendar switched to a new year. The Houston Memorial junior was eager to compete and did it the last month of 2023, etching herself at the top of the national high jump rankings. She jumped 5-10 at the FasTrak Athletix High School Indoor on December 10th and she has been steady ever since.
Kameron Franklin was a little more patient as he did jump his national leading 7-0.25 jump on January 6,2024. He did have motivation to do it then as it was on the future home track of the Louisiana State University commit at the LSU High School Classic.
Although, it is early in the season and the year, both jumpers still have a grip on their national leading rank. Bryant has continued to jump and cleared the 5-8 and 5-9 bar several times, but Franklin hasn't competed since and still holds the top bar.
The high flyers aren't the only Texans dominating the nation in the event. They are joined in the top ten rankings by fellow Texans Kenneth Owen (Houston Stratford) on the boys side and Nia Harrison (Greenhill), Abby Elmore (Gunter), Mackenzie Dagrosa (San Antonio Reagan), and Brianna Rivers (Humble Summer Creek) in the girls national rankings.
