4A Girls 4x100 Relay
They may have come into the meet with the fourth fastest qualifying time, but Paris showed up when it mattered most. It was anyone's race through the final leg but thanks to a strong kick from anchor Jasmine Franklin, they went home victorious. Their final time of 47.32 was a solid .74 seconds faster than their time in the regional meet.

Getting just edged out but holding onto second was Brookshire Royal with a time of 47.42. They led early on through the second exchange.

Last year's bronze medalists, Fort Worth Dunbar kept themselves in the mix and repeated their fate a year ago. They claimed the final podium spot with a time of 47.50.

4A Girls 4x200 Relay

Paris bested last year's silver medal with a gold medal following a greatly executed race that featured some lead changes. The squad of Caroline Gillem, Baleigh Cashion, Shamyia Holt and Jasmine Franklin took care of business with another strong finish in the anchor leg. They crossed the line with a winning time of 1:39.34

It was a tight race between Iowa Colony and Alvarado through the first exchange with Paris lurking just behind. Iowa Colony maintained a slight lead up until the final four meters after Franklin overtook the lead and ultimately give the win to Paris.

Iowa Colony held onto second with a time of 1:39.70 followed by Alvarado in third with a time of 1:40.46.

UIL 4A Girls 1600-meter relay

Year after year, the UIL State Track Meet boasts fast times.

The case was no different in the girls mile relay as all but one team bested their time turned in at the regional meet this year.

Huffman Hargrave took command early and was in the lead through the first exchange. Canyon, Dallas Carter and Iowa Colony trailed just behind through the duration.

It turned into a three-team race into the final 200 meters as neither team could pull away.

With about 80 meters to go, Iowa Colony overtook the lead with a winning time of 3:50.54. Huffman Hargrave held onto second with a time of 3:51.46. Canyon entered with the fastest qualifying time but came in fourth. They were beat by Dallas Carter for the final podium spot. Carter crossed in 3:52.54.
