Elizabeth Leachman's Stellar Season Ends At Olympic Trials

Competing in the Olympic Trials is a dream beyond one's grasp for the majority of Track & Field athletes, and yet at the tender age of 16, it's nearly unfathomable, but phenoms like Elizabeth Leachman (Boerne Champion) have proven that it is possible to reach this level at the age one can also acquire a driver's license.

Leachman earned this opportunity with a dominant performance at the prestigious Texas Relays, dominating the 5K collegiate invitational. It's perfectly understandable that she was a tad awestruck by the field in Oregon: Elle St. Pierre, Karissa Schweizer, Parker Valby, Elise Cranny, Katelyn Tuohy, and a host of seasoned veterans.

The holder of numerous records in both XC and TF at the Regional, Class, State, and National levels, Leachman now moves to her junior XC season focused on having her team reach the UIL State Championships.

As for future records and accomplishments, as she states, if it's part of the plan, it'll happen. Fortunately, XC / TF fans have two more years to enjoy the Boerne Champion star.
