Texas Future Stars Edition IV

Girls

Adeline Bennett (Flower Mound)

Bennett was fantastic as a freshman, playing a major part in Flower Mound (FM) winning their fourth straight UIL 6A state title last year. She placed 32nd overall.

Bennett was also a force during the track season going 2:19 and 4:56.

This year, she has three races in the 17-minutes, a 16:27 three-mile with a Girls Elite race win last week at the Nike South Invitational.

Remington Boone (Weatherford)

Boone has two sub 19-minute runs this season with a 18:00 at the Marcus Coach T XC Invitational. She has finished in the top 10 in every race except for an 11th place finish at the Cowboy Jamboree at Oklahoma State University.

Kailyn Brunson (San Antonio Northside Brennan)

Brunson's first race was her slowest at 19:51. Ever since, she has run over a minute faster in every race. She has 18:01, 18:14, 18:33, and 18:39 in every other race of the year.

Sheh won the McNeil Invitational 6A girls race.

Taryn Elmer (Marcus)

Elmer is one major reason for the Marcus resurgence this season. She and her teammates have run themselves into the CCCAT top ten.

She dropped a bomb of a race at her team hosted Marcus Coach T XC Invitational. That 18:11 race was PR, but she followed up with big runs of 18:12, 18:33, and 18:50.

Liana Cluley-Garza (Flower Mound)

Cluley-Garza is another outstanding class of 2027 runner for the Jaguars. She had a 20:16 PR in her freshman year and this year, she started off with a 18:24 PR.

Her season performances have backed up the FM top three runners and she slides into the third spot at times. With 18:12 and 18:34 runs at 5K, she dropped a 16:48 at Woodbridge.

Elena Sather (Northwest Nelson)

Slather is another impactful runner on a top team in the state. She went from a 19:14 PR as a frosh to 18:23 to start the season off. Follow-ups of 18:31 and 18:43 show off her development and commitment to training.

Naomi Weller (The Woodlands)

Weller isn't one of the runners who had to roll into her groove. She started out blazing fast dropping a 18:16 in her first high school 5K. She ran her 18:15 PR a week later.

She has continued to run 18-minute 5Ks all this season and went 16:59 at three-miles at Woodbridge.

Micah Neal (Aledo)

Neal is another runner who rocked it out of the blocks in her freshman year. She won the Region 1-5 Championships and was seventh at state.

She has continued to crush it this season with six runs under 19-minutes. Because of Neal, Aledo is realistically in the hunt for the 5A state team title.

Eleanor Smith (San Marcos)

Smith had a good freshman year that ended at the Region 4-6A meet. While that is a lot further than most freshmen, she clearly was satisfied with that level of running.

In the 2024 season, she started off with two 18:38 runs in a row and has run faster in her other four races. In her most competitive race at McNeil Invitational is where her 18:08 PR came from.

Caroline Krupa (Vandegrift)

Krupa fits in the mold of a runner who has improved from frosh to sophomore year. She ran 21:21 last year, but has gone as fast as 18:30 this year.

A lot of fuss is being made about the Vandegrift boys, but Krupa is one major reason why the girls have been ranked in the CCCAT 6A top ten all year long.
