It's never too early to prognosticate the cross-country season. Today, we do that for the Region 2-6A boys. Several teams in the region finally competed across 5,000m giving us the chance to compare and contrast.

It is still early, so teams may not have unveiled their top 7 runners yet, but the data we have gives us the outlook below at this stage of the year.

Bridgeland

Bridgeland looks like the team to beat in Region 2. With Griffen Saacke's 14:40 leading the charge, they post a sharp 15:18 average and a 56-second 1-5 split. Their front five (Saacke, Carlisle, McCallister, Rosales, Pawlak) all sit between 14:40-15:36, giving them the lowest overall scoring power in the region. The depth extends further with Navarro and Benguedda, both under 15:50. This is a team built for championship racing: a true low stick plus a deep senior-led pack. If they tighten their spread closer to 40 seconds, they'll not only dominate Region 2 but also contend for a state title.
