A few weeks in, here is where the athletes stand

Brewer MS seventh grader Kyndall Johnson leads the Texas middle school girls 100m list at 12.18, already shaving two tenths of a second off her season opener of 12.37. Kendall Wheatley of Terry MS leads the girls 200m at 24.13, one of just two middle school girls in Texas under 25 seconds this season. (She also sits second in the 100m at 12.23.)  Kelly Lane MS eighth grader Elise Bynum leads the 400m at 58.54, already significantly quicker than her best from last year, 59.96. She has also taken off a second off her 2025 200m best, having now run 26.42.
