Four Names and a Full Roster to Know
Easterwood has state podium finishes in cross country and track to her name. Bramer, Schuller, and Williams have nationals experience
Junior Maya Easterwood started running in seventh grade. By her sophomore year she was finishing 3rd at the UIL 6A cross country state meet in 17:13 and 3rd at the UIL 6A state track meet in the 3200 in 10:27.16. She went to New Balance Nationals Outdoor last June and ran 4:34.22 in the 1500m and 4:52.76 in the mile. This spring she has already run 4:54.01 in the 1600 at the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays on Mar 27 (6th in Texas) and 10:30.91 in the 3200 at the same meet, the fastest time posted in the state so far.
Ainsley Bramer committed to the University of Texas and has been building toward a memorable senior campaign. Last spring she finished 4th at the UIL 6A state meet in the shot put at 42-9.50, went to Nike Outdoor Nationals and threw 43-0.25, and sent the discus 131-2. This season she has already thrown a PR of 47-4.50 in the shot put at the Coppell Cowboys Relays, sitting 2nd in Texas, and 140-1 in the discus, 21st in the state.
The Schuller name carries a lot of weight at Coppell. Skyler Schuller won the UIL 6A state pole vault title in 2023 and went onto Stanford. Her younger sister Mia is now on the roster vaulting, and their brother Noah is a senior who has propelled the family's track legacy, no matter the event. He cleared a PR of 16-1 in the pole vault at the Coppell Cowboys Relays on Mar 5, which ranks 8th in Texas and 21st nationally. Last spring he placed 11th at Nike Outdoor Nationals in the vault at 15-0.25 and competed in the high jump, long jump, and hurdles at the John Green Texas Greatest Athlete event.
Then there is Sophia Williams, who has been competing at a national level since her sophomore year, when she was part of the Coppell 4x200 relay that broke the school record at the UIL 6A state meet. This winter she ran at Nike Indoor Nationals, going 7.05 in the 55m final and reaching the semis in the 60m. This outdoor season she has already posted a PR 23.45 in the 200m at the Texas A&M Bluebonnet High School Invitational on Mar 6 - the 8th fastest mark in Texas and 10th nationally - and 11.53 in the 100m at the same meet. She has also gone 55.32 in the 400m this spring.
The roster runs deeper than those four, however. Avery Easterling (2027) has thrown 42-0 in the shot put, 21st in Texas. Bailey Johnson (2028) has run 44.07 in the 300 hurdles and 14.81 in the 100 hurdles. Gentry Currie (2026) has cleared 6-6 in the high jump, Da'Nyah Gilmore (2028) has sailed over 5-4, and Brandon Veail (2026) has gone over 6-4.
The UIL postseason starts in a few months and Coppell has established itself as a team to keep tabs on until then.
