Several Texas high school athletes set personal bests at area meets during the week of April 13.
Grant Hull (Cypress Woods) threw 55-9.5 in the shot put at UIL 6A Area 15 & 16 on April 17, improving from his previous best of 47-2. The sophomore's mark ranks #35 in Texas and #3 among sophomores statewide while setting a school record. Hull placed fourth at the meet.
Moni Anjous (Fort Bend Travis) jumped 18-7 in the long jump at UIL 6A District 21 & 22 Area Meet on April 16, bettering her previous mark of 16-11. The senior's distance ranks #77 in Texas and #31 among seniors while establishing a school record. Anjous finished fifth in the event.
Jazmyn Howard (Refugio) ran 11.56 in the 100 meters at UIL 2A Area 31 & 32 on April 18, improving from 12.02. Her time ranks #33 in Texas and set a school record while earning first place. Howard also set personal bests in the long jump (19-0.5, previous 18-5.25) and triple jump (37-7.25, previous 37-7) at the same meet.
Tylen Criswell (Langham Creek) threw 58-10.25 in the shot put at UIL 6A Area 15 & 16 on April 17, improving from 50-5.25 set in April 2026. The junior's mark ranks #18 in Texas and #4 among juniors while setting a school record. Criswell placed second at the meet.
Tyler Jackson (Hico) jumped 23-6.25 in the long jump at UIL 2A Area 11 & 12 on April 16, improving from 21-5.5 set in April 2026. His distance ranks #42 in Texas and established a school record while winning the event.
Madina Muhammed (Klein) cleared 5-5 in the high jump at UIL 6A Area 15 & 16 on April 17, improving from 5-2 set in April 2026. The senior's height ranks #62 in Texas and #19 among seniors while placing second at the meet.
Airriona Jackson (Brookshire Royal) ran 11.97 in the 100 meters at UIL 4A Area 21 & 22 on April 17, improving from 12.37. The senior's time ranks #149 in Texas and #47 among seniors while placing second in the event.
