SOPHOMORES MAKE THEIR CASE
Noah Garcia (8:50.65 3200m), Colton Anderwald (9:29.04 3200m), T'Landria Williams (5-9 HJ), and Addie Fields (12-0 PV) post standout marks at UIL regional meets
BOYS
Garcia ran 8:50.65 to finish third at the UIL 6A Region 1 championship in the 3200m, a PR that ranks him 3rd in Texas across all grades and 33rd in the country. He opened the outdoor season at 9:35.76 at the Riverside Invitational in early Feb, then ran 9:32.55 at the Jim Omohundro Invitational on Feb. 21 before winning the Fred Loya Track Invitational in 9:20.62. He won UIL 6A District 1 in 9:08.41 and placed first at UIL 6A Area 01 & 02 in 9:26.25 on Apr. 17 before his regional PR. Garcia finished 10th at the UIL Cross Country State Championship last fall in 15:20.10. His 1600m PR of 4:14.86, also set at the regional meet, ranks 15th in Texas across all grades.
Anderwald ran 9:29.04 to place fourth at the UIL 4A Region IV championship, a PR that ranks him 88th in Texas across all grades. He opened the season at 10:29.66 at the CBCA Meet of Champions on Mar. 6, won the Trojan Relays in 10:05.95 on Mar. 26, then won UIL 4A District 31 in 10:02.92 before placing third at UIL 4A Area 31 & 32 in 10:06.28 on Apr. 16. His regional mark of 9:29.04 represents a drop of more than a minute from his season opener. His 2025 outdoor best was 10:49.82, set at the Beeville Jones Trojans Relays.
GIRLS
Williams cleared 5-9 to win the UIL 6A Region I high jump, a PR that ranks her 8th in Texas across all grades and 31st in the country. She opened the season at 5-2 at the Lake Ridge High School Invitational on Feb. 21, cleared 5-4 at the Arlington Martin Invitational on Feb. 28 and the Texas A&M Bluebonnet High School Invitational in early March, then reached 5-6 for the first time at the Greg Williams Lancaster Meet of Champions on Mar. 13. She held at 5-6 through the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays (Mar. 27-28), Jaguar Relays (Apr. 2), UIL 6A District 03 (Apr. 8-9), and UIL 6A Area 03 & 04 (Apr. 16) before her three-inch regional PR. Her 2025 outdoor best was 5-2.
Fields cleared 12-0 to win the UIL 5A Region I pole vault, a PR that ranks her 33rd in Texas across all grades and 155th nationally. She opened the season at 11-0 at the Argyle Invitational on Feb. 19, vaulted 10-6 at the Northwest Texan Invitational on Feb. 27, returned to 11-0 at the Aledo Bearcat Relays on Mar. 12, cleared 10-0 at the Kangaroo Relays on Mar. 26, then placed second at UIL 5A District 05 with 11-3 on Apr. 9-10 before her regional PR. Her 2025 outdoor best was 10-0, set at the Northwest Texan Invitational, making her current PR a two-foot improvement year over year.
