This Week's Nominees:
Andrew Walsh, Aledo (Texas): A 16:58.28 clocking over 5K was good enough for first place out of 292 finishers, clearing the field at the James Smith HS Invitational by 82.9 seconds. The mark ranks No. 31 of 2,057 athletes in MileSplit's database at MISD Multi Purpose Stadium since 2020.
Jett Ford, Founders Classical Academy of Lewisville (Texas): Winning the 5K at the Smith/Honc Battle At The Buff (4A & Under) in 15:55.09 put 14.4 seconds between first and second among 254 finishers. The time also improved a prior mark of 16:25.84 on this course by 30.8 seconds, and now sits at No. 14 of 7,980 athletes in MileSplit's database at The Buff since 2019.
Rhett Hulin, McKinney North (Texas): Crossing the line first out of 461 finishers in a 5K time of 15:05.73 secured the win at the DUBEast XC Invitational (FULL) by 13.1 seconds. That performance now stands as the fastest in MileSplit's database at Founders Park since 2020, a span covering 1,871 athletes.
Joshua Smith, Leander (Texas): A 5K time of 16:45.26 was enough for the win at the Huntsville CC Meet, separating from the 134-runner field by 36.5 seconds for first place. The effort ranks No. 2 of 260 athletes in MileSplit's database at Huntsville HS since 2020.
Gavin Czerwieski, Midlothian (Texas): Covering the 5K in 15:33.17 produced a first-place finish at the James Smith HS Invitational, with a 13.1-second margin over a field of 167 finishers. The run shaved 26.5 seconds off a previous mark of 15:59.64 on this course and now stands as the fastest in MileSplit's database at MISD Multi Purpose Stadium since 2020, among 2,056 athletes.
