Northlakes Park, Denton - Just like in the Boys race the #1 Southlake Carroll Dragons dominated the Marcus I meet over the best teams in North Texas. The Lady Dragons were led by JR Shelby Chapin. Shelby placed 4th overall covering the 2 Mile course in 11:12. The most impressive thing was the 1-5 pack of only 21 seconds. All of the top 5 girls placed in the top 10 overall. Other ranked teams in the race were #7 Marcus (6th), #8 Lewisville Hebron (5th), #10 Coppell (4th). Unranked Flower Mound placed 3rd overall. Teams ranked in the lower classifications did very well. #1 3A Lucas Lovejoy placed 7th overall and #1 Highland Park placed 2nd overall. Highland Park was paced by Natalie Rathjen. Natalie won the race overall in 11:03. The time ranks 5th all-time on the course. As a FR last year Natalie ran a 10:45 on the same course.
