Houston, Texas - The Tulsa women\'s and men\'s track teams completed competition at the Conference USA Indoor Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Yeoman Field House in Houston, Texas. The women earned a fourth-place mark overall, while the men finished seventh. Junior-transfer Stephanie Jeffers captured a personal-best, a school-record and the best shot put throw in the conference with a distance of 15.35m (50-4.50). The Women\'s Distance Medley team, consisting of freshman Dawn Nagazina, junior Shameka Holloway, and freshmen April Montgomery and Alex Becker, notched a time of 11:51.80 for the top-finish at the championships

NAMPA, Id. - Scott Romney (Sr., Gig Harbor) set a meet record in leading a second straight 1-2-3 sweep of the men\'s pole vault as Western Washington University successfully defended its men\'s title at the third annual Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Jackson\'s Track in the Idaho Sports Center. The Vikings, who won by just six points last year, outscored runner-up Central Washington, 151-to-134. Western Oregon, which took the title in 2004 and fell to second in 2005, placed third with 103 points among the seven participating schools.

Dempsey Indoor Hosts 2006 MPSF Indoor Track Championships
Eight of nine Pac-10 teams will send their best to Dempsey this week to fight for conference titles.
On the Track: Eleven of the West\'s top track and field programs -- including eight of the nine Pac-10 track and field squads -- will be represented in full force this weekend at Dempsey Indoor as Washington plays host to the 2006 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Conference Championships. The Huskies have hosted the event -- which serves as the indoor conference championships for Pac-10 and Big West Conference teams -- each year since 2004, with 15 meet records falling over that two-year span. Multi-events begin Friday at 11:15 a.m., with events on the track running from 2:50-6:35 p.m. Saturday\'s action begins with multi-events at 10 a.m., and features track finals from 12-3 p.m., along with a number of field events.
