The University of Houston track and field team claimed three event titles just after the first day of the Houston Indoor Invitational and Multi Events.
The Rice women's track and field began competition at the Houston Indoor Invitational on Friday inside Yeoman Fieldhouse on the University of Houston campus. The majority of the competition is on Saturday.
The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field teams recorded three individual titles on the first day of the Houston Invite and Multis competition. SFA was very strong in the `B' finals of the 400-meter dash, sweeping the men's and women's individual titles. Senior Chris Moody won the men's race with a time of 49.22, while sophomore Mary Dickerson won the women's race clocking a time of 1:00.02. SFA's other individual title came from senior Frednisha Marshall in the weight throw (61-8.50).
