There was plenty of hoopla over Duncanville relays and sprints. Much of it goes to the boys teams due to the explosion of the boys 4x100 relay this year.

However, what the Duncanville girls did on Saturday afternoon makes it extremely hard not to notice or mention no matter what happened in the boys races.

The Duncanville girls are tied for the US No. 6 fastest team while running the eighth fastest time by an American high school relay.

Duncanville entered the UIL 6A State meet with the second fastest time in the state, but they left as the State champions in the 4x100m relay.

Running the first leg, Ashley Lister got Duncanville off to a great start and they handed off the baton in first place and never looked back. They posted the nationally all-time mark of 44.70 in their win.

Shadow Creek ran well out of Lane 5 and took the silver medal in a time of 45.18 while the bronze medal came down to a photo finish. Northwest Nelson edged out defending State champion Klein Forest by a mere thousandth of a second as both teams were credited with 45.43.

Running out of Lane No. 1, Duncanville had a tough draw in the UIL 6A 4x200m relay, but they came through with flying colors. A great final leg by Sanyah Keeton and good handoffs gave them the victory in 1:35.67.

Allen led throughout the race hitting all the exchange zones in first place, but they could not hold on and had to settle for fourth place despite running 1:36.59.

Before taking the track for the 4x200 relay, the duncanville girls needed a uniform change after their US No. 8 A-T 4x100 relay performance

Summer Creek entered the meet with only the fifth-fastest time but ran well. Brooke Lloyd nearly took the team all the way to the gold medal with her anchor and crossed the line in 1:35.82 for the silver medal.

Shadow Creek was in the mix until the end and nabbed the bronze medal in 1:35.96 after entering the meet with the fastest time in the State.
