Driscoll & Kearney Dominate Austin Westlake Invitational
Boys Recap
- Sophomore stud Matthew Kearney ran a new PR of 15:27 to win the Austin Westlake Invitational. This is Kearney's 6th individual victory this season. He took it from the gun and never looked back to clinch the win. Tyler Grendel from Cedar Park finished 2nd also running under 16 minutes (15:58). After Grendel was Colton Hawkins who took third running 16:05. There was a battle at the line for 4th between Dripping Springs senior Trevor Heinz, and Vista Ridge senior Jordan Chagoya. Chagoya ended up coming out on top by only 10th's of a second. The team victory was won by Cedar Park. The guys from CedarPark scored 69 points to take home the win. Finishing somewhat close to them in 2nd was Round Rock who scored 94 points.
Girls Recap
- Ashley Driscoll won the girls race running 18:21. The next closest girl was Dripping Springs senior Hannah Moore (19:16) who was almost a minute behind Driscoll. Moore lead the Dripping Springs Girls team to victory. The Tigers scored 44 points to get the win. Just behind them in 2nd was Austin Bowie with 65 points.
