Last year, like on the guys side the Lone Star State only had two representatives at Foot Locker Nationals,
Paige Hofstad (2nd) and Abby Gray (10th). With Hofstad out due to injury Gray will be the states top returner. Gray has had a big championship and post season so far, winning the class 5A state title and placing runner up to Ashton Endsley at NXN South. Endsley is the states the next fastest returner having placed 27th last year. This year the junior will look to have a big run, after winning NXN South just last weekend.

One big name we can't forget is 6A State Champion Julia Heymach. This will be Heymach's second Foot Locker South appearance. As a freshman Heymach finished 27th.  She took last year off only focusing on NXN where she placed 2nd in the South region and went on to place 16th at NXN. This year she switched things up to only focus on Foot Locker. The junior has been undefeated all year, and will look to head into Foot Locker well rested after not running NXN South.

Abby Guidry is another person to watch. The Kingwood senior and Texas commit has had an impressive post season. Guidry finished 17th at State, and 3rd at NXN South, helping her team qualify for Portland. The senior is no stranger to the Foot Locker South Regional, in 2013 she ran it placing 62nd. She will look to make a big jump this year to try and snag a ticket to San Diego.

Like in the guys race, there are several girls looking to make their first ever Foot Locker South appearances two of which are, Elizabeth Reneau and Abbey Santoro. Santoro who is just a sophomore placed third at State and 8th at NXN South. Reneau who is also a sophomore has run well all season long placing top 10 in every race she's ran except NXN South (38th). She is a four time TAPPS State Champ including this years TAPPS cross country state title. Both ladies will look to continue their seasons with a chance to make it to San Diego. Other names to watch will be Laura Fairchild and Julia Black.

Big Names From Other States:
Virginia's Weini Kelati is one of the favorites to win this year having smashed several Virginia course records, as well as being ranked Saucony Flo50 #1. She will be one of several Virginia runners to keep an eye on along with Libby Davidson who was 4th last year, Julia Wood (23rd), and Devon Williams (24th). Kentucky's
Gabriella Karas and Brianna Wolken will also be in the mix having finished 3rd and 15th last year. This field has several returning top 10 finisher, as well as several that were on the brink of top 10 finishes in 2014. This is definitely going to be a tough race to make it to San Diego.
