What a race for 6A State champ Julia Heymach. Heymach sat out last weekend at NXN South to rest up for Foot Locker South, and it looks like it paid off! Heymach finished 5th in a highly competitive girls field, qualifying her for Foot Locker Nationals. This was the juniors second time running Foot Locker South. In her freshman year she placed 27th. Last year she she choose to only run NXN and was a top finisher placing 16th.

Abby Gray

The 5A State Champ has been crushing it this post season. Gray was runner up last weekend at NXN South in a down to the wire finish against Ashton Endsley. This will be her second year in a row attending Foot Locker Nationals.  Endsley ended up finishing just off the top ten in 25th place. She has also been a on a roll this post season, she had a big win at NXN South over Gray and several other competitive girls just last weekend. Gray will now be making both the trip to Portland and San Diego in her senior year.

Five other Texas girls finished all within 10 places of each other, Krysta Martinez (40th), Helen Roddy (43rd), Abbey Santoro (45th), and Julia Black (49th), and Laura Fairchild (50th). The girls race was won by Virginia's Weini Kelati in 16:43.
