VIRGINIA KERLEY
Taylor is a small Texas town that very few have heard of it. However, it can boast having two of the world's best 400m runners. The Kerley brothers of Texas A&M University are having an amazing NCAA track season and they are from Taylor, Texas.
However, there is another Kerley in town and in the family who has an awesome amount of athletic ability of her own. Virginia Kerley will compete at the 4A Texas state track and field meet this weekend, but this isn't her first rodeo in Austin. This season, Kerley qualified in the long jump, triple jump, 100m, and the 400m. She has been a staple at the state meet as she has qualified every year since she got to high school. The crazy thing is that she dropped the 200m this season, which is an event that she has a 23.85 PR and placed second last season at state. Like her brothers, watch our for her in the 400m as she is running hot right now. She set a PR in the regional prelims with a 55.35 and then returned to back that up in the finals with a 55.85.
Kerley will have a busy afternoon in Austin, but will be looking to take care of business with the expectation of bringing three golds back to Taylor.
