Houston Langham Creek junior, ERIC EDWARDS just won the Pan American Championships in the 110m hurdles.

Earlier in the day, Edwards had the third best time from the semi-finals with a 13.62. That was just a warm up and a glimpse of what was to come as he took to the finals and let the world know who he is. He won the finals with a 13.33 into a negative head wind. That is impressive because the winning time is just .01 off his personal best, which was also set in a head wind.

On the year, Edwards has accomplished a lot by winning every race on the outdoor season except two. The only two individuals to beat him were Joseph Anderson of California who won bronze for Team USA and Floridian Damion Thomas who placed fourth for Jamaica.

Edwards, just completed his junior year of high school and was the youngest competitor in the event. It has been a very good year for Edwards winning the 6A state title and the Junior USA title last month. He can now add this gold medal to his collection of 2017 medals and use it to set the tone for his upcoming senior year.
