Everyone in the nation knew that juniors ALEX MAIER and CARTER CHEESEMAN would return after having outstanding sophomore season. However, nobody knew they'd both be running in the same state. Both Maier and Cheeseman are the top two runners in the entire state of Texas and they are both in the top 10 nationally.
They aren't the only junior boys who are burning it up on the cross country courses as CRAYTON CARROZZA, HAFTU KNIGHT, and PETE JOHNSON have all run at least low 15:30s or better. Not impressed yet, well let's dive a little further. A whopping 29 boys have run 16:00 and under and 45 boys have at least hit 16:10. Considering we are only midway through September, the junior class boys could make one heck of a recruiting ground for coaches at the next level.
