Bryce McCray Adds Another Texas Lead Performance This Week

Bryce McCray leads Texas rankings in both the 300H and the 400m

George Ranch High School is no stranger to having a track star or two on its program. Senior Bryce McCray is continuing that tradition and is currently one of the state's leaders in two events.

The University of Georgia signee is taking out his frustration on losing his 2020 school track season on the entire 2021 season so far. He went into the last weekend of February with the state lead in his primary event, the 300 meter hurdles, with his 37.08 from the Cy Springs Panthers Invitational.

This weekend at the Fort Bend Marshall 8th Annual Buffalo Relays, he added his name to the the 400m lead by running 48.63.

Not only is McCray following in the footsteps of his George Ranch predecessors, but he is also taking the torch from his father and USA Olympian, Danny McCray.

Bryce's 400m season open of 48.63 is a good start, but a long way away from his father's 44.81 PR.

Although family bragging rights haven't swung in his favor just yet, the start to the 2021 track and field season is something McCray should still feel good about.
