Amongst the 23 schools competing in The Woodlands Christian Invitational is
TAPPS 6A powerhouse St. Agnes, winner of five consecutive girl's team titles, and a
host of 5A, 4A and smaller TAPPS schools as well as a few SPC schools, most notably
John Cooper and Houston Christian.
An early-season contest one-week post frigid temperature in The Woodlands,
Saturday is set for a beautiful 70 degrees with light winds, perfect for all events,
especially in early February.
Two events will set this meet apart: the Distance Medley Relay (1200-400-800-
1600) opens the running portion of the event schedule, and the 4x400 Co-Ed Relay,
a recent Olympic event, closes the meet. While the Distance Medley is a fan favorite,
it's a non-scored event in all Texas conferences.
Coach Tom Earle of The Woodlands Christian Academy has hosted this meet since
2016, and the excitement is high for this meet since last year's freeze forced a
cancellation.
