They're not only engaging, but they're also two of TAPPS' top mid-distance runners, looking to help elevate a strong Houston Lutheran South Academy squad. Marcus Gaitan and Matthew Gaitan enter the 2024 campaign with an impressive resume:
Marcus - 1:52.06 800 / 4:20.01 1600
Matthew - 1:55.91 800 / 4:21.32 1600
The Rice-bound twins are following in their father's footsteps as far as competing collegiately. He ran at Texas Tech, and when Marcus and Matthew depart at season's end, no worries - another set of twins - Jeremy and Joshua - are right behind them. Both freshmen, Jeremy has already clocked a 4:38.33 1600 and Joshua a 4:49.56 1600.
And yes, they'll run a twin-twin 4x800 this season, stretching the Gaitan surname across the final results.
